Basketball Recap: Springfield Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Springfield Christian Academy came up short against Bethany Christian on Tuesday, falling 75-51. While losing is never fun, Springfield Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 540th, while Bethany Christian is ranked 238th).

Bethany Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Luca Halalau out in front who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 11 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Halalau has scored at least a third of Bethany Christian's points. Nathaniel Byers was another key player, putting up 26 points and seven assists.

Springfield Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Bethany Christian, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Springfield Christian Academy is taking a road trip to take on Immanuel Baptist at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Bethany Christian, they will be playing at home against Faith Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Bethany Christian's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Faith Christian has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
