Softball Recap: Lyle/Pacelli Takes a Loss

Lyle/Pacelli had lost 20 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-8 to make it 21. They lost 23-5 to the Mabel-Canton Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 on Tuesday.

As for Mabel-Canton, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3. Considering they have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Mabel-Canton's part, they got a massive performance out of Kira Snyder, who went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Snyder a new career-high. Hailee Eiken was another key player, going 2-for-6 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Looking ahead, Lyle/Pacelli will host Houston at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mabel-Canton, they will head out on the road to square off against Schaeffer Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
