Baseball Game Preview: Cle Elum-Roslyn Warriors vs. Cashmere Bulldogs

Cle Elum-Roslyn is 0-5 against Cashmere since March of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Warriors will take on the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Cle Elum-Roslyn 3.7, Cashmere 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Last Saturday, Cle Elum-Roslyn came up short against Overlake and fell 7-3. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, while it was Cashmere who put the first points on the board on Tuesday, it was Royal who put up more. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Knights by a score of 5-4. The loss was the Bulldogs' first of the season.

Tom McDevitt put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

McDevitt wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mac Carlson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double was Carlson's first of the season. Another was Jake Peterson, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cashmere fell to 6-1. As for Cle Elum-Roslyn, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 2-4.

Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cle Elum-Roslyn hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .357. However, it's not like Cashmere struggles in that department as they've averaged .316. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Cle Elum-Roslyn might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Cashmere in their previous meeting back in March of 2016. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
