Baseball Game Preview: Fredericksburg Billies vs. Wimberley Texans

For the second straight game, Fredericksburg will face off against Wimberley. The Billies will welcome the Texans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Fredericksburg has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Wimberley will arrive with nine straight victories.

Fredericksburg fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Wimberley on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Texans by a score of 8-7.

For Wimberley's part, Wyatt Yeatter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Yeatter posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Cody Stoever and Bryson Anderson did most of the damage at the plate: Stoever went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double, while Anderson went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave Stoever a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sage Hall, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Wimberley lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Wimberley pushed their record up to 13-3-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Fredericksburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.
