Basketball Recap: Lyndon Institute Takes a Loss

Lyndon Institute was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 71-49 to the Montpelier Solons. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Vermont basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Solons are ranked second).

Lyndon Institute's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Montpelier, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-1.

Looking ahead, Lyndon Institute will square off against Spaulding at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Montpelier, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Randolph at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Montpelier knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 contests -- so hopefully Randolph likes a good challenge.
