Softball Recap: Imperial Tigers vs. Brawley Wildcats

Imperial stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They never let the Brawley Wildcats onto the board and left with a 6-0 win. The victory was nothing new for Imperial as they're now sitting on four straight.

Jayden Rutledge was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Rutledge has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than seven innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Rutledge was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 4-for-4.

Rutledge wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Johnson, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Mirella Barron, who went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Imperial pushed their record up to 23-3-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Brawley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.
