The matchup between Oak Grove and Purvis on Thursday hardly resembled the 4-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Warriors narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Tornadoes 11-10. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Cambri Sumrall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Anna Claire Barlow was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Jersey Ancalade, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Oak Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory got Oak Grove back to even at 11-11. As for Purvis, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-7.

Oak Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Purvis, they will host West Harrison at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
