Volleyball Recap: Carrollton Trojans vs. Lawson Cardinals
If Carrollton was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Trenton on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans came up short against the Lawson Cardinals on Saturday, falling 3-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Trojans haven't been shut out since back in September.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-20, 25-16.
Sarah Ratliff paced Carrollton's offense, picking up 12 kills. Ratliff got some help from Kinsey Fisher and her 20 assists. Jenna Owen controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Kayla Phipps was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 19 digs and two assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.
Carrollton's defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Lawson, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-5-2.
As of now, neither Carrollton nor the Cardinals have any future games scheduled.
