Basketball Recap: Jaysen Moise Key Part of Team Effort in Screamin' Eagles Win

Seneca Valley won the last time they faced Clarksburg and things went their way on Friday too. The Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles managed a 59-53 win over the Clarksburg Coyotes. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Screamin' Eagles.

Seneca Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaysen Moise, who went 7-for-13 en route to 19 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Moise's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Charles 'Malik' Simmons Jr, who posted 14 points.

Seneca Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 18 consecutive games.

Seneca Valley's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Clarksburg, they dropped their record down to 2-16 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Seneca Valley will challenge Watkins Mill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clarksburg, they will face off against Gaithersburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
