Softball Recap: Del Valle Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

Del Valle never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Akins Eagles as they made off with a 9-0 victory. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Del Valle is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Akins, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Del Valle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Akins, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pflugerville Connally at 9:00 a.m. on June 26. The Eagles are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
