Volleyball Recap: Vista Murrieta Takes a Loss

If Vista Murrieta was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Temecula Valley last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Broncos came up short against the Great Oak Wolfpack on Monday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Broncos have suffered since March 21st.

While Vista Murrieta had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-19, 25-18.

Vista Murrieta's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 15-19. As for Great Oak, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 22-3.

Vista Murrieta and Great Oak should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Broncos (ranked 205th) will meet Murrieta Valley (ranked 490th) at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Great Oak will square off against Chaparral at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (72 vs. 299).
