Mechanicville suffered their closest defeat since May 21, 2024 on Sunday. They fell just short of the Albany Falcons by a score of 11-9. Even though they lost, the Red Raiders' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.4 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Adrianna Loiacono was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and four RBI. Paige Rogers also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Mechanicville and nudges their season record down to 4-4. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Albany, they moved to 2-8 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Mechanicville has already played their next contest, a 4-1 defeat against Scotia-Glenville on the 27th. As for Albany, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 17-5 loss against Galway on the 27th.
