Basketball Recap: Slocum Mustangs vs. Laneville Yellowjackets
The Slocum Mustangs lost against the Laneville Yellowjackets back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Slocum lost to the Yellowjackets on the road by a decisive 63-47 margin. Slocum has not had much luck with the Yellowjackets recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Laneville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Ross out in front who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Johnson, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Slocum has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season. As for Laneville, they pushed their record up to 20-12 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
Slocum will take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Laneville, they will head out on the road to square off against the Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wells will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
