Baseball Recap: Belton Drops Highest Score of Season Against Ellison

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Belton). They put the hurt on the Ellison Eagles with a sharp 23-1 victory on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Tigers with their most commanding win of the season.

Belton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ellison, they dropped their record down to 1-16 with the loss, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Belton is set to challenge their familiar foe Waco at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Ellison will face off against rival Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
