Baseball Game Preview: Jemison Panthers vs. Montgomery Academy Eagles

The Jemison Panthers will host the Montgomery Academy Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jemison has three straight wins, Montgomery Academy has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Jemison barely beat Montevallo the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Jemison never let Montevallo get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory last Thursday. Considering the Panthers have won six matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Montgomery Academy came up short against Saint James on Friday, falling 13-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered against the Trojans since March 26, 2022.

William Marks was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Jemison's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Montgomery Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
