Volleyball Recap: Bunker Hill Takes a Loss

Bunker Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Hickory Red Tornadoes, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Tornadoes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-17, 25-13.

Hickory was led to victory by Ryan Hines and Ella Kate Stewart. Hines had five digs and three aces, while Stewart had 11 digs and two assists. That's the most aces Hines has posted since back in October of 2024.

Bunker Hill's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Hickory, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Bunker Hill is set to square off against their familiar foe Maiden at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hickory will face off against rival Newton-Conover at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
