Preview: Towanda Black Knights vs. Canton Warriors
Towanda has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Canton Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Towanda and Canton are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
Towanda pushed their score all the way to 57 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-57 to Sayre.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Canton beat Galeton 43-38 on Saturday. That looming 43-38 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Canton yet this season.
Canton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ben Fitch, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Fitch has scored at least 25% of Canton's points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Vroman, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Towanda's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Canton, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Towanda didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Canton when the teams last played back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 59-53 win. Will Towanda repeat their success, or does Canton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
