Football Recap: Doniphan-Trumbull Starts Season with Win Against Amherst

Doniphan-Trumbull had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Amherst Broncos 36-7. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-0.

Doniphan-Trumbull didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Easton Volk, Jack Poppe, and Haydan Smith picked up one apiece.

Looking ahead, Doniphan-Trumbull will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Centura at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Amherst, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on St. Cecilia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
