Softball Recap: Munford Triumphs

Munford came out on top against Arlington on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Cougars took their game against the Tigers 8-5. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 8-4 win two weeks ago.

Munford let Molli Reece Johnson and Gracie Williams run wild. Johnson went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one triple, and one RBI, while Williams went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three hits gave Johnson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadence Brewer, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Munford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arlington only posted a batting average of .290.

Munford's record is now 14-11. As for Arlington, they dropped their record down to 12-11-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Munford nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
