Basketball Recap: Providence Day Chargers vs. Charlotte Christian Knights

The Providence Day Chargers won the last time they faced the Charlotte Christian Knights, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Providence Day simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Knights 67-32 on the road. Given Providence Day's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Knights are ranked 299th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jaida Mcclure was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Ramsden, who scored 16 points.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maria Dermas, who scored seven points along with three steals.

Providence Day is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Charlotte Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-12.

Providence Day will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Charlotte Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Cannon will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak alive.
