The Belvidere North Blue Thunder scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 66-29 win over Rockford East at home. The win was some much needed relief for Belvidere North as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Samantha Adams went supernova for Belvidere North, scoring 21 points along with three steals. Adams is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Cortlyn Hefty, who scored ten points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Belvidere North's win ended a nine-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-22. As for Rockford East, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-24.
Belvidere North will square off against Sycamore at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Belvidere North will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 471st, while Sycamore is ranked 65th). As for Rockford East, they will face off against Hononegah at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hononegahpresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Rockford East in Illinois (Hononegah is ranked 52nd, while Rockford East is ranked 576th).
