Football Game Preview: Mt. Rainier Rams vs. Kennedy Catholic Lancers + Official Tickets

The Mt. Rainier Rams will head out to challenge the Kennedy Catholic Lancers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Mt. Rainier beat Auburn 45-40. Considering the Rams' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Kennedy Catholic had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.4 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 74-6 win over the Chargers. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Chargers are ranked 225th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mt. Rainier better keep an eye on Royce Miller. He was instrumental in Kennedy Catholic's win, rushing for 71 yards and two scores. Those 71 rushing yards gave Miller a new career-high. Kennedy Catholic also got a significant boost from Nikko Lecksiwilai, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 97 yards.

Mt. Rainier's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Kennedy Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Mt. Rainier was dealt a bruising 62-11 loss at the hands of Kennedy Catholic in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Rams, Indiana Jones (who rushed for 153 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also picked up 46 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time.
