Preview: Ellenville Blue Devils vs. Webutuck Warriors
Ellenville is 8-0 against the Warriors since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Ellenville Blue Devils will head out on the road to take on the Webutuck Warriors at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ellenville has six straight victories, the Warriors have 27 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Ellenville stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 58-37 margin over Rhinebeck. Given Ellenville's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Hawks are ranked 383rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Webutuck took a serious blow against the Eagles on Wednesday, falling 77-36. Webutuck has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Ellenville pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Webutuck, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.
Everything went Ellenville's way against the Warriors in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the Blue Devils made off with a 71-51 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ellenville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
