Softball Game Preview: Chavez Titans vs. McFarland Cougars

For the second straight game, Chavez will face off against McFarland. The Titans will host the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chavez has four straight wins, McFarland has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Chavez is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over McFarland on Tuesday. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by eight runs or more this season.

Chavez let Haley McClintock and Zoe Chavez run wild. McClintock went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base, while Chavez got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Chavez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alexis Elizondo, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Chavez always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .722. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Chavez's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for McFarland, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
