North had to settle for second on Tuesday, but Solis Coker sure wasn't going down easily. Coker made a splash, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and eight unearned) runs off six hits. Considering she played a big game the last time she faced off against Alhambra back in April of 2024, the result shouldn't come as too huge a shock. Coker has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

Even though Coker couldn't lead North over Alhambra, she won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
