Basketball Game Preview: A&M Consolidated Tigers vs. Lake Creek Lions

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the A&M Consolidated Tigers face off against the Lake Creek Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday... One thing working in A&M Consolidated's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.

A&M Consolidated saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 74-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Huntsville.

Meanwhile, Lake Creek suffered their closest defeat since November 19th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Stratford by a score of 53-50. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 704th, while the Spartans are ranked 340th).

A&M Consolidated will need focus on slowing down Owen Melancon, one of several Lake Creek players who made an impact when they last played. He posted eight points and six rebounds. Holden Caltabiano was another key player, going 6 for 14 on his way to 13 points.

A&M Consolidated's loss dropped their record down to 3-8-1. As for Lake Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.

A&M Consolidated came up short against Lake Creek in their previous matchup back in February, falling 72-64. Can A&M Consolidated avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
