Softball Recap: Schaumburg Has No Trouble Against Hoffman Estates

While Schaumburg put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Hoffman Estates. The Saxons put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 10-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-0 back in April.

Alexa Evans made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Schaumburg got a massive performance out of Jordan Murtaugh, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Francheska Manding also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Schaumburg lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hoffman Estates didn't launched any home runs.

Schaumburg's record is now 8-14. As for Hoffman Estates, they are on a 21-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-21.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Schaumburg will host Fremd at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so the Saxons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hoffman Estates, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Conant at 4:45 p.m.
