Baseball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cottage Grove Lions. The Millers were not able to make up for their loss to the Lions from their previous meeting back in March of 2016.

Springfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Darius Bullock, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Springfield's record now sits at 1-7. As for Cottage Grove, the win got them back to even at 5-5-1.

Springfield and Cottage Grove will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Millers will face off against rival Eagle Point at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cottage Grove is set to take on their familiar foe North Bend at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
