Soccer Game Preview: Lincoln vs. Montbello

The Lincoln Lancers will venture away from home to take on the Montbello Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lincoln's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Lincoln came up short against George Washington on Tuesday, falling 7-1.

Meanwhile, Montbello's game on Thursday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They skirted past Thomas Jefferson 2-1. Sergio Venegas had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Montbello.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11-1. As for Montbello, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-7-1.

Lincoln couldn't quite get it done against Montbello when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 4-2. Can the Lancers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
