Recap: Eastwood Troopers vs. Eastlake Falcons

It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but the Eastwood Troopers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Eastlake 54-52. This was payback for Eastwood, who suffered a 57-53 loss the last time these two teams met.

Devin Falk-Ramirez was his usual excellent self, scoring 33 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Marcus Bennett was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.

Despite the loss, Eastlake saw an underclassman step up: Tristan Edmond scored 16 points. It was the first time this season that Edmond scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braeden Quigley, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.

Eastwood pushed their record up to 22-10 with that win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Eastlake, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-14.

Eastwood will be playing in front of their home fans against Pebble Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Eastwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Tuesday. As for Eastlake, they will head out on the road to take on El Dorado at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Eastlake is facing El Dorado at the right time seeing as El Dorado is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
