Soccer Preview: Northeast vs. Clarksville        
        
		
             Northeast hasn't had much luck against Clarksville recently, but that could start to change  on Tuesday. The Northeast Eagles will challenge the Clarksville Wildcats at 6:00  p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication,  the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
 Northeast took a loss when they played away from home  two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Greenbrier  a   5-0 shutout. That five goal margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.
 They hit Greenbrier with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from 
 Janelle Roland (2), 
 Malea Ewing, 
 Sarah Delgado,  and 
 Dakota Haupt.
 Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better  (just ask Clarksville). They blew past Springfield 9-0 on Monday. Given the Wildcats' advantage  in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings  (they are ranked 59th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 229th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 The  win snapped Northeast's losing streak at six games  and leaves them with a 3-8-1 record. As for Clarksville, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six matchups,  which provided a massive bump to their 6-4-3 record  this season.
 Northeast might still be hurting after the  8-0 loss they got from Clarksville  in their previous matchup  back in October of 2023. Can Northeast avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
