Baseball Recap: Basic Wolves vs. Mountain Vista Golden Eagles
Basic gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victor by a 10-4 margin over the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.
Andruw Giles was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. In other pitching news, Basic got a great performance from Johnny Villarreal as he struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. The dominant performance gave Villarreal a new career-high in strikeouts.
