Recap: Southside Seahawks vs. East Carteret Mariners
The Southside Seahawks fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat East Carteret 40-7 at home. The result was nothing new for Southside, who have now won three matches by 33 points or more so far this season.
TeQuon Moore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 150 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also catching a touchdown. Myquan Clark was another key contributor, gaining 87 total yards and two touchdowns.
Southside has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-6 record this season. As for East Carteret, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southside will face off against Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jones comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for East Carteret, they will head out on the road to face off against Lejeune at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Lejeune is ranked 401st, while East Carteret is ranked 391st).
