Recap: Nansemond River Warriors vs. Granby Comets
With a playoff game on the line, the Nansemond River Warriors rose to the challenge on Friday. They took down Granby 35-20. The win was nothing new for Nansemond River as they're now sitting on four straight.
Despite the loss, Granby still got an impressive performance from Eamon Cuffee, who picked up 178 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Granby's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Nansemond River's QB was sacked four times before it was all said and done. In that department, Davontae Brown was the leader with two sacks.
Nansemond River is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Granby, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.
Nansemond River will head out on the road to face off against Maury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Maury's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last nine games. Granby does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
