Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Naperville North). They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the DeKalb Barbs on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Huskies: when they faced off against the Barbs on April 10th, they had to take a 7-4 loss.
Gabi Chmiel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 11 Ks.
On the hitting side, Maddi Larsen was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double was her first of the season. Addison Wade was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Naperville North's win bumped their record up to 3-13. As for DeKalb, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6.
