Basketball Recap: South Kitsap Takes a Loss

South Kitsap was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Sumner Spartans 82-44. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Spartans are ranked 72nd).

South Kitsap's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Sumner, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

South Kitsap will square off against Emerald Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Emerald Ridge will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something South Kitsap surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sumner, they will challenge Curtis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sumner knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 games -- so hopefully Curtis likes a good challenge.
