It was fun while it lasted, but Greenwood Christian's undefeated season came to an end after five games on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 41-40 to the Calhoun Falls Charter Blue Flashes. The game marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Leading Calhoun Falls Charter to victory were Autumn Thomas and Alexis Sanders. Thomas posted 18 points and three steals, while Sanders put up eight points in addition to nine blocks and eight boards. Thomas' evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kor'Tasia Tillman, who had five points and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Greenwood Christian fell to 5-1. As for Calhoun Falls Charter, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Greenwood Christian and Brashier Middle College Charter will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025. As for Calhoun Falls Charter, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against GREEN Upstate at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
