Basketball Recap: Cabrillo Takes a Loss

Cabrillo lost against Long Beach Poly back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Cabrillo Jaguars took a blow against the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits, falling 86-32. The matchup marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Cabrillo lost, don't look at Lincoln Dean. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 9 on his way to 16 points. The contest was Dean's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aden Jones, who posted four points.

This is the second loss in a row for Cabrillo and nudges their season record down to 10-8. As for Long Beach Poly, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.

Cabrillo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 62-61 victory against La Salle on the 18th. As for Long Beach Poly, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-47 win against Millikan on the 17th.
