Softball Recap: Linn Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Linn had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Fayette on Wednesday. The Wildcats never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Sophia Voss made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Voss was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Heslie Higginbotham was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Anna Peters was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Linn's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.25 runs across that stretch. As for Fayette, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Linn didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-5 victory against Vienna on the 25th. As for Fayette, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-5 win against Russellville on the 25th.
