Basketball Recap: Brandon Kennedy's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Elysian Fields over Tenaha

Elysian Fields lost against Tenaha back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Elysian Fields Yellowjackets came up short against the Tenaha Tigers, falling 72-49. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1123rd, while the Tigers are ranked 396th).

Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brandon Kennedy, who posted 21 points. Kennedy's evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Brody Parker was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Elysian Fields has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-17 record this season. As for Tenaha, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elysian Fields will challenge Joaquin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Elysian Fields is facing Joaquin at the right time seeing as Joaquin is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Tenaha, they will face off against Timpson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
