Soccer Game Preview: Williams Field vs. Higley

The Williams Field Black Hawks are taking a road trip to take on the Higley Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Williams Field's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Monday, Williams Field needed a bit of extra time to put away Queen Creek. They never let the Bulldogs onto the board and left with a 1-0 win. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Black Hawks were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Higley sidestepped Gilbert for a 1-0 victory. The Knights wouldn't have won without Izabella Stair, who scored the game-winner.

Williams Field is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5-3 record this season. As for Higley, their win bumped their record up to 6-8-1.

Williams Field came up short against Higley when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Williams Field avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
