Lufkin waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Tyler Lions. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-15, 25-17.

Lufkin's victory bumped their record up to 26-7. As for Tyler, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lufkin is set to face off against their familiar foe Marshall at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Tyler will square off against rival Mt. Pleasant at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
