Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Phoenix Academy

Phoenix Academy won the last time they faced Surry HomeSchool and Destiny Kinsey did her part to make sure it happened again. The Firebirds took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 68-27 win over the Runnin' Patriots with plenty of help from Kinsey, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Several Runnin' Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lindsay Easter, who posted nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.

The victory (which was Phoenix Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 58.7 points this season. As for Surry HomeSchool, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Phoenix Academy will host Jordan-Matthews at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Surry HomeSchool, they will venture away from home to take on NC H at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
