Recap: Stearns/Schenck vs. Orono Riots
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Stearns/Schenck can now relate to. They received a tough blow on Saturday as they fell 58-40 to Orono. Stearns/Schenck's loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Orono's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jack Brewer, who threw for 289 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt, and also punched in a rushing score. Brewer is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last ten games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of William Francis, who picked up 212 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Stearns/Schenck's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Orono, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Stearns/Schenck does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Orono is on the road again on Saturday and play against Old Orchard Beach at 2:30 p.m. on November 11th. Old Orchard Beach has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 650 points over their last ten matchups.
