Basketball Recap: Norcom Takes a Loss

Norcom was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 74-51 to the Varina Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Blue Devils are ranked 14th).

Norcom's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Varina, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Norcom will square off against Lake Taylor at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Varina, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Patrick Henry at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Varina knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Patrick Henry likes a good challenge.
