Softball Recap: Eaton Rapids Comes Up Short

Eaton Rapids has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.42 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They came up short against the Mercy Marlins, falling 12-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Greyhounds haven't been shut out since back in April.

This is the second loss in a row for Eaton Rapids and nudges their season record down to 23-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 23-5-1 Fenton (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 87.9% over those games). As for Mercy, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their 29th straight at home dating back to last season.

Eaton Rapids has already played their next game, a 15-6 loss against Flat Rock on the 17th. As for Mercy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 13-0 win against Fenton on the 17th.
