Softball Recap: Nine Straight Home Wins for Glenbard North

Glenbard North put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Hinsdale South Hornets. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won three matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Avery Miller spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Tru Medina was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Alyssa Abderhalden was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Medina wasn't the only one making solid contact: Glenbard North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Glenbard North pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Hinsdale South, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9-1.

Looking ahead, Glenbard North will take on West Chicago at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hinsdale South, they will face off against Metea Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
