Baseball Game Preview: Winneconne Wolves vs. Berlin Indians

For the second straight game, Winneconne will face off against Berlin. The Wolves will welcome the Indians at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Winneconne has three straight wins, Berlin has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Winneconne came out on top against Berlin on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Wolves were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Indians.

Lucky Pahl and Broderick Stille made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Pahl struck out 14 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Stille tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pahl also tossed a walk, which is notable because Winneconne is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 2-5 otherwise. At bat, Pahl went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Stille went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ethan Duel was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colson Kleinschmidt, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Winneconne hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.

Winneconne's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Berlin, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
