Soccer Game Preview: Eastern View vs. King George

The Eastern View Cyclones will face off against the King George Foxes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Eastern View's offense. They fell just short of Chancellor by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Eastern View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Chancellor are ranked 24th).

Meanwhile, King George didn't have quite enough to beat Courtland on Tuesday and fell 2-1. The loss continues a trend for King George in their meetings with Courtland: they've now lost three in a row.

Eastern View has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That lines up perfectly with their 1-4-1 record this season. As for King George, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3-1.

Eastern View suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to King George in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Cyclones avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
