Volleyball Recap: Norwich Free Academy Takes a Loss

Norwich Free Academy was the 3-0 winner over Norwich RVT when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Warriors on Wednesday. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 25-16 in the first set.

Norwich Free Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-14.

Mason Stolhammer paced Norwich Free Academy's offense, picking up 18 kills. Stolhammer got some help from Alec Ferland and his 24 assists. Landon Little controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Landon O'Brien was a one-man wrecking crew For Norwich RVT. as he had 24 digs and two aces. Those 24 digs gave O'Brien a new career-high.

Norwich Free Academy is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5. As for Norwich RVT, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2.

Norwich Free Academy has already played their next matchup (against South Windsor), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Norwich RVT, they will venture away from home to face off against Civic Leadership at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
